In mid-February 2026, Bert and Griet will move their existing bistro from den brand in Retie to the city center (Peperstraat 11), where they will also offer hotel rooms in addition to their bistro.

Because Bert & Griet have been that power couple for many years, always pulling on the same 'ZEEL'

Everyone is welcome at Bistro Tilo for a snack, a drink, or a more substantial meal. This can be accompanied, of course, by a nice glass of wine, a summer cocktail, a refreshing beer, or a non-alcoholic alternative!

In addition to our regular menu options, we also offer daily specials inspired by the season, the weather, and our mood. We're always looking for original ideas and surprising sources of inspiration. When we travel to faraway lands (which we love to do!), we always bring back new flavors and culinary discoveries.

The original bistro is almost impossible to find in Belgium anymore. A shame, so it's time for a comeback. And so it's time for Tilo. An authentic bistro in the heart of bustling Retie. A spacious dining and drinking establishment (we can seat 40 guests) with an equally extensive menu showcasing honest, high-quality dishes. Classics with a new twist, like a delicious steak tartare and beef fillet, but also something for vegetarians and delicious meat and fish dishes with a touch more allure.

Our bistro is accessible to everyone. From those who enjoy a simple meal to the gourmet seeking true culinary delights. Come with or without children, with small or large groups.
